Well, we woke up around 6:50 this morning, with that first day of school feeling in the house. :) Taylor and I were talking about how excited we are for Lily and then all of a sudden we hear "Its my first day of school!" Lily has been so excited that she even slept with her backpack! She got up and put on the outfit we laid out last night. She ate her breakfast in record time. She made sure that she brushed her teeth and used the mouthwash Crampa gave her so that she wouldn't have bad breath. :) We did her hair with pretty clips and even put on some golden stick on earings we had found at the dollar store the day before. :) Man, that kid has grown up. We walked outside where the sun was (is) shining and there was a crispness to the air... the kind that forces you to put on a sweater. Anyways, that's when I felt it... that excited, scared, sick stomach feeling you get on the first day of school. I haven't had that feeling since... well, anyways, for a long time. :) Lily and I made Mrs. Jordan a "pencil" for the first day of school made out of a toblerone and a chocolate kiss. She loved it. :) Anyways, here is the first of many first day of school pictures. (I think its pretty great).
(Isn't she the cutest? Who wouldn't love to have a kid like her in their class?) She has some really cute little girls in her class, who were sweet and kind and they were all fast friends. We kept hearing things like, "Do you like my backpack?" and "I'm five too!". I am so glad they have something in common. :) There was even one little girl who absolutely had to share that she had an apple in her bag for snack time. Her parents were beside us and were just shaking their heads laughing. Yes, I think Lily will fit in well there.
Mrs. Jordan even gave each of the parents a small gift bag with a cute note saying how she is excited to teach our children. She included a tea bag so we could all go home and relax! It was cute. As for Alexis...
She follows me around everywhere! Haha She is going to miss Lily. In fact, the house seems so quiet... It is strange, but I am excited for all Lily will learn. She is going to bloom. :)
I can't believe she's starting school already!! I love her 'first day of school picture' what a cute kid!
ReplyDeleteI love the mouthwash bit. Typical Crampa thing! You really should post a picture of the Toblerone pencil. I may have to steal that idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I think she is so cute in that picture. :) I don't know if you can see the pencil in Lily's hand in the first picture or not... Its just a toblerone covered in yellow scrapbook paper, with pink paper as the eraser. I tied a ribbon around that part so you couldn't see any glue and then I stuck a Hershey kiss on the other end for the tip... I found the idea on a blog I cant remember, but she used a rolo... I like toblerone better, so I used that. :)
ReplyDeleteQuestion: Did she swallow the mouthwash or spit it out? I don't even need to ask. She ALWAYS does what her mom asks and not what Crampa asks.
ReplyDeleteI miss you guys. See you soon.
Crampa
She spit it out... I think. :) Miss you too. You should never leave again.
ReplyDeleteWe are so excited that Lily is finally one of the school kids now....
ReplyDeleteI would give $50 to have her in my class. So cute!
